Independent Medical Opinions & Nexus Letters
Physician-written medical opinions for your VA disability claim
Board-certified physicians write defensible, evidence-based opinions and nexus letters grounded in your records. Incomplete medical evidence is the leading reason claims are denied or underrated.
Request a Review opens our secure, HIPAA-compliant intake in a new tab, encrypted to protect your records. Not sure yet? Start with a records review, credited toward your full opinion.
Getting Started
Two ways to begin
Start with a full Independent Medical Opinion, or, if you are not sure your records are ready, begin with a lower-cost records review. The records review is an optional step one of the same process, and every dollar is credited toward your full opinion if you continue.

Why Valor
Board-certified physicians, not templates
Every opinion is written by a board-certified physician with relevant specialty experience, never a PA, a nurse, or a non-clinical writer. Independent, evidence-based, and HIPAA-secure from intake to delivery.
And if your records don't support a defensible opinion, we'll tell you plainly. We're independent, not the VA, and we never guarantee outcomes.

What is an independent medical opinion (IMO)?
An independent medical opinion is a written clinical assessment from a physician who is not part of the VA system. It provides an objective, evidence-based evaluation of whether a veteran's condition is connected to their military service, and it is used to support VA disability claims, appeals, and legal proceedings.
What is the difference between a records review and a full IMO?
The records review is a fixed $199 first step: we review and organize the records you submit and tell you where your evidence stands. A full Independent Medical Opinion adds a board-certified physician's written, evidence-based opinion and nexus language. The records review fee is credited toward the full opinion if you proceed.
How much does it cost?
A records review is a fixed $199, credited toward a full opinion if you continue. A full Independent Medical Opinion ranges from $500 to $1,500 depending on case complexity and the volume of records. Pricing is confirmed before work begins.
Do you guarantee claim outcomes?
No. We provide independent, evidence-based medical opinions grounded in clinical documentation. We do not guarantee claim approval or any particular VA outcome.
